POSITION DESCRIPTION
Huron Valley Schools is seeking an effectively collaborative and positive Administrative Assistant to support the Student Support Services department, as well as support our Special Education programming within Apollo Early Childhood.

Location: Student Support Services MHS & Apollo
Salary: HVESP Contract, Class III Schedule $17.85 - $22.55
Reports To: Director of Student Support Services & Apollo/PAL Director
Status: School Year 2024 - 2025
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Work Year: 46 Weeks

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have strong clerical skills, including an effective use of Word Processing
- Must have competent use of the English language in both oral and written communication
- Must exhibit strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Must have knowledge of office equipment
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, administration and community
- Must have effective bookkeeping knowledge and understanding of the business office functions of the district
- Must have knowledge of special education procedures and terminology
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform typical secretarial functions for the program including correspondences, typing, filing, laminating, copying, etc
- Answer telephone and make appointments for administration on behalf of students, parents, and teachers
- Completion of necessary student records, such as Social Security Administration upon request
- Prepare payroll and maintain attendance records for program staff
- Prepare purchase requests, warehouse orders and distribute supplies
- Maintain departmental budget records as well as individual teacher accounts and reimbursements. Perform other functions such as bank deposits
- Assist with the student enrollment process
- Maintain Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) program and submit required reports for Play and Learn (PAL), Early Intervention and Speech and Language program
- Monitor and modify student attendance for ECSE and Early Intervention student attendance on the Skyward system
- Maintain student emergency cards and transportation forms, as well as coordinate student transportation needs
- Prepare Special Education Student files for archiving
- Submit Direct Service Requests (DSRs) to Oakland Schools
- Prepare Pupil Count submissions in October and February
- Create and maintain CA-60's and confidential files for programs as needed. Prepare and deliver PAL student files (CA-60 & confidential files) to receiving Huron Valley School buildings for new kindergarten students
- Process record requests from other districts for Special Education student records
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Degree or higher.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
