Shift Availability :

• Thursday-Sunday
  • 9:30 AM - 8:30 PM
  • 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 4:00 PM - 10:30 PM

K&T Security is seeking experienced and highly skilled Armed Special Police Officers (SPO) to join our elite team. We provide premier security services across various high-profile locations in Washington, DC. This role is perfect for professionals dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their patrons. Immediate openings are available, with opportunities for full-time employment and additional shifts.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor and control access to premises, ensuring the safety and security of customers, employees, and visitors.
• Enforce strict age restrictions by ensuring no one under 21 is allowed on-site.
• Provide exceptional customer service, assisting patrons and addressing their concerns professionally.
• Respond swiftly to theft, vandalism, unauthorized entry, and other incidents as required.
• Operate surveillance systems and detection devices to prevent unauthorized access.
• Manage access control duties, including greeting and checking IDs of visitors.
• Practice de-escalation techniques to manage potentially tense situations.
• Write detailed daily activity reports and document any irregularities or violations.
• Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, in compliance with K&T Securitys uniform standards.
• Adhere to all District of Columbia regulations regarding the carrying and use of firearms.

Compensation & Benefits :

• Hourly Wage : $20-22 depending on experience.
• Benefits : Health insurance available after 1 year.

• Training : Paid training opportunities, including licensing advancements and Security Industry Association membership.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Licensing : Must have a valid District of Columbia Armed SPO License.
• Background Check : Must pass a comprehensive background check.
• Experience : At least 5 years of security experience, with a strong understanding of access control systems and the ability to stand for long periods.
• De-escalation : Familiarity with de-escalation techniques to effectively manage conflicts or incidents.
  
• Technology : Must own an Android or iPhone to access required websites/apps for clocking in/out and site management.
• Uniform : Must comply with the uniform standards provided by K&T Security.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Licensing : Additional Armed Maryland Guard Card and VA DCJS Licensed officer preferred.
• Military or Law Enforcement : Preference given to candidates with a military or law enforcement background.
• Experience : Previous experience in high-security environments such as government buildings, embassies, or corporate offices.
• Technology : Familiarity with TrackTik or similar security management software is a plus.
