The Bindery Operator is responsible for operating various bindery equipment, as assigned in an efficient and safe manner. The Bindery operator will also operate shipping terminals and package and ship product in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. The Bindery Operator will coordinate his/her workload schedule to meet customer timeframe requirements while achieving optimum productivity. The Operator will perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on equipment to ensure optimum output while working closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

General and Administrative

• Coordinate with Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs, and when necessary reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.

• Comply with all OSHA and Company safety requirements.

• Wear appropriate safety protection if required or when mixing chemicals.

• Participate and support operations as needed.

• Communicate effectively with the Owner, the Operations Manager, Expediting/Bindery Supervisor, the Sales Team, and the Production Team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that both sales and customer objectives are met.

• Ensure consistent housekeeping in assigned zone and work area

• Follow established systems and procedures outlined in company manual.

Bindery Operations

• Operate bindery equipment as instructed according to proper procedures.

• Perform all bindery operator functions as noted on the work order/job tickets.

• Package and ship product according to shipping instructions.

• Always work in a safe manner and inform supervisor of any safety concern immediately

• Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards at all times.

• Maintain knowledge of safety requirements of job and equipment; be familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets regarding chemicals used.

Qualifications:

• High school or GED equivalent.

• Familiarity with bindery equipment a plus

• Requires good mathematical skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.

Pay Details: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour
