Qualifications

• CDL A or CDL B with hazmat endorsement
• Ability to understand drawings / manuals for set-up, maintenance & repair
• Organized, attention to detail, pride in appearance of equipment and work environment
• Ability to understand mechanical systems containing multiple component requirements
• Strong knowledge of diagnostics and repair techniques
• Able to lift 60 pounds unassisted
• Team player capable of wearing multiple hats
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Computer and tablet skills for research, documentation and transaction processing
• Welding, fabrication, or electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to operate forklift and delivery equipment

ChemStation, a national leader in industrial cleaning chemicals, is a $150 million+ nationwide company. Our Oceanside, CA location currently has an opening for a CDL driver/equipment mechanic. A qualified individual is capable of working independently, manage time effectively and wear multiple hats in this hybrid role. Approximately half your time is focused in the field repairing and maintaining chemical handling equipment installed at customer sites as well as managing customer chemical inventories and ongoing customer service requirements. These customer visits may entail delivery of chemicals, equipment or installation of new equipment. Our territory is mainly San Diego and Orange County. Our field equipment mainly consists of various types of fluid pumps and dilution dispensers controlled by PLC or SCADA systems. The remainder of your time would be spent at our facility in Oceanside, CA assembling and maintaining equipment and assisting the manufacturing process of compound blending chemical detergents for delivery to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
• Prepare purchase orders to procure special order parts and equipment
• Maintain stock of consumables, replacement parts and equipment for truck and shop
• Troubleshoot and calibrate equipment using appropriate tools and techniques
• Weld components as necessary to repair or fabricate equipment
• Collaborate with technical sales teams to design customized equipment solutions
• Assist in the installation of new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Delivery of products to customers, including pumping chemicals to refillable containers.

• Blending and packaging of chemical products for delivery to customers
• Warehouse duties, including operating forklift, pallets jacks and dispensing equipment
• Document professional customer service reports and manage required follow up
• Interact with customers and maintain relationships that lead to business growth
