The team member will be responsible for compounding sterile and/or non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations per work instructions under pharmacist supervision. In addition, the successful candidate will assist in cleaning and maintenance of the work environment.This position is based in Lorton, Virginia and cGMP training will be provided. What you'll doThe successful candidate will:Comply with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacyEnsure cleaning and garbing is performed exactly as outlined in the facility's policies and proceduresCompound sterile and non-sterile preparations accurately and in compliance with master worksheet directionsOperate all compounding equipment accurately and according to the facility's policies and proceduresPrepare work area and products accurately and thoroughly prior to compoundingPerform required compounding activities daily without fingertip growth during manual and semi-automated compounding operationsPerform cleaning of the cleanroom areas thoroughly and according to policy without viable particle growthDemonstrate thorough knowledge of the job, completing all annual competencies and skills validationsPass all initial and on-going validations and advanced complex media-fill verificationsAccountable for activities in production area(s) to meet goals, and quality objectivesEnsure all required documentation is completed accurately and in a timely mannerEffectively integrate knowledge into job functions and continually strive for professional developmentComply with 503B guidelines, cGMP policies and procedures, and company standards Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors Assist other areas as needed (picking and preparation operations, etc.)Physical DemandsMust be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 40+ pounds.Must be able to sit or stand for 4+ hours at a time as needed.Be completely covered in protective gear for long periods of time.QualificationsRequired:High School diploma or GEDBasic mathematical skills, including knowledge of metric system and its unit conversionStrong, consistent attention to detailNationally certified as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in the posting statePreferred:ACPE Sterile products certification At least 1 year of experience in sterile pharmaceutical compoundingIV bags and/or syringe compounding experience Knowledgeable in ISO 5/7 environment cleanroom gowningKnowledge of aseptic techniquesKnowledge and demonstrated understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and how they apply to specific responsibilities and manufacturing operations
