This position supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Office of Expeditionary Operations (IX). This position is part of the IX Front Office responsible for providing, recruiting, scheduling, and deployment support for NGAs Volunteer Deployment Team (NVDT). This position will support the Government by providing research, writing, and development of a broad range of written, spoken, and digital communications. They will assist IX leadership in developing and implementing communication strategies designed to inform, engage, and influence both internal and external stakeholders, as well as collaborate between NGA employees working worldwide to convey the scope and impact of the Expeditionary Operations mission.

This position is located in Springfield, VA.

Requirements include, but are not limited to :

The Contractor shall develop and implement internal and external communications.

The Contractor shall proactively identify and implement marketing strategies.

The Contractor shall identify and solicit potential users and user groups for improved communications processes and means.

The Contractor shall make appropriate recommendations for message / information development, communication method selection, and timing of messages.

The Contractor shall research, write, edit, and publish communications products (e.g. print, web, electronic, briefings).

The Contractor shall collaborate with graphic designers, briefing developers, photographers, illustrators, Office of Corporate Communications (OCC) and other required staff as necessary when developing publications and other internal and external communications.

The Contractor shall prepare material for internal publication.

The Contractor shall manage and monitor production schedules.

The Contractor shall develop new communication methods to reach target audiences.

The Contractor shall support NGA senior leaders by writing speeches, talking points, video scripts, briefings, communication plans/strategies, articles for publication, and other communication products as necessary.

Required skills

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience within a related field.

At least 7 years experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a combination (related business or industry experience will be considered with solid communications or marketing experience).

A basic understanding of the DoD

Must have strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, presentation skills, and experience with MS Office applications.

Desired skills

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. A Masters degree in one of these fields is preferred.

Experience with graphic design tools and techniques

Prior NGA experience.

Security Clearance Requirements:

TS/SCI with CI Poly

Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier, scanner, and computer printer.
Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
