About the Internship Experience: As a NYSTEC intern, you will work with internal and external clients under the direction of an assigned mentor. You will learn consulting competencies, such as industry understanding, client/business perspective, leadership, resource management, opportunity development, consulting business knowledge, partnering and networking, personal interaction, managing quality, business ethics, and continued learning and development. As a data analyst intern in the Modernization and Data Solutions practice, your day-to-day role will include helping with advancing a key service offering for NYSTEC and assisting with preparing service offering materials. Key Responsibilities Perform billable and nonbillable consulting services in collaboration with mentor. Assist with updating internal materials. Learn and possibly participate in the business development and sales process by assisting with project proposals, presentations, and new client activities. Develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external clients. Proactively share information that will make colleagues and clients more successful. Learn and use NYSTEC's appropriate tools and processes. Participate in internal and client-facing meetings. Prepare reports and presentations. About You: Required Qualifications Basic understanding of data analysis process and methodolgies. Comfortable working under general supervision, receiving minimal instruction for new assignments, and exercising high initiative and discretion in completing tasks. Ability to problem solve complex assignments requiring research and analysis. Must possess excellent written and verbal communications, strong interpersonal skills, and can manage and develop key relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a strong customer focus. Must be well organized, able to work well under pressure, and a good team player. Education and Experience This program seeks undergraduate or graduate students with exceptional technical and research skills, combined with strong leadership potential. We look for diverse educational and professional experience. Enrollment in an accredited degree program that is concentrated in data analytics, data science, health informatics or a related discipline, preferred. The NYSTEC Internship Program for summer 2025 will run from May 12 - August 1. The typical schedule will be during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Specific hours can be negotiated based on the intern's availability. Pay rates for interns are: $22 per hour for undergraduate students. $24 per hour for graduate students.
