Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services ’ company, is looking for a Dental Assistant I in support of Claremore Indian Hospital. The Claremore Indian Hospital (CIH), Indian Health Services (IHS) has a requirement for dental assistant services. The Dental Assistant will support the dental team by performance of a range of clinical functions. This position allows the dental team to smoothly function and better serve the intended population. This is a full-time, 8-hour per day, Monday - Friday position.

Responsibilities

• Perform chairside assisting duties in all phases of restorative, prosthetic, endodontic, periodontic, pedodontic, and oral surgical treatment provided in general dentistry.
• Correctly exposes and mounts intra and extra-oral radiographs.
• Provides routine rubber cup and prophylaxis and applies topical fluoride treatment as assigned by the dentist.
• Places it and fissure sealants as prescribed by the dentist.
• Relays to patient’s post-operative instructions, disease prevention techniques, and home care instructions.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all instruments, materials, and procedures normally used in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic and periodontal treatment.
• Knowledge of dental anatomy and ability to properly expose and mount diagnostic radiographs.
• Ability to explain to patient’s post-operative instructions, disease prevention techniques, and home care instructions.
• Knowledge of steps and techniques required for the placement of sealants on teeth.
• Knowledge and skill of tooth isolation techniques required to maintain a dry field of placement of restorations and sealants.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques.
• Dental Assistant Certification OR
• 1 year of experience in Dental Assistance
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
