Performs complex (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Provides support to multiple programs within the Access Dissemination Bureau, the public, local and state agencies, and law enforcement agencies needing assistance with the Fingerprint Applicant Services of Texas (F.A.S.T.) program. Assists with ensuring Crime Records Secure and Public websites are performing daily without any issues and reports issues to our vendor. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  1. Assists Supervisor with monitoring vendor compliance for multiple contracts that provide services for Crime Records FAST program and Secure and Public websites.
  2. Provides analysis of the FAST program to ensure vendor is meeting contract requirements. Monitors FAST location status, appointment availability, and statewide coverage.
  3. Coordinates collection, compilation, analysis, and interpretation of data from vendor reports; categorize, calculate derivative data regarding relationship, comparison, correlation, etc. for the FAST program.
  4. Disseminates certified and non-certified public criminal history record information responses to appropriate individuals, entities and courts per applicable state statute. Attends vendor meetings and provides feedback to ensure all ADB contract requirements are being met for the FAST program and Secure and Public websites.
  5. Compiles daily, weekly, and monthly reports for vendor compliance of the FAST program and Secure and Public websites.
  6. Maintains statistical records and databases for FAST program contract reporting requirements.
  7. Collaborates with ADB Supervisors and units in determining trends and resolving technical problems for Secure and Public websites.
  8. Documents issues with the Secure and Public websites and enters them into vendor documentation program. Ensures issues have been addressed and the program area accepts the additions, changes, or modifications.
  9. May analyze Crime Records Division web content for accuracy and recommends changes to responsible area.
  10. Responds and consults with both internal and external for non-criminal and criminal justice agencies, to include public, local, and state agencies, and law enforcement.
  11. Interprets and explains rules, regulations, policies, and procedures concerning DPS Public website, Criminal History record Information and expunction.
  12. Provides training to customers and staff for the public website and/or training to staff utilizing contracto databases for ADB.
  13. Attends work regularly and observes approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

General Qualifications and Requirements:

Education Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelors degree.

Experience Minimum of one (1) year experience with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) systems or one (1) years program monitoring experience, and one (1) years customer service experience.

Substitution Note: Additional work experience of the type described or other related education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Licensure and/or Certification If driving is required, must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.

Regulatory knowledge Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.

Technology Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. CAPPS, SharePoint) and be able to learn new software/systems. Proficiency with Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) systems. Proficiency with Tableau and vendor contracts.

Confidentiality and Protected Information Must demonstrate an ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information and situations and adhere to applicable laws/statutes/policies related to access, maintenance and dissemination of information.

Schedule and/or Remote/Telecommuting work and/or Travel Availability for holidays, overnight, weekend work, and emergencies is required. This position may have the ability to telecommute based on the needs of the division/agency.
