Robert Half is partnering with a respected Des Moines organization to add an Email Marketing Coordinator to their team. This is a contract opportunity with potential to hire offering a collaborative and creative work environment, with in-office collaboration as needed (very flexible hybrid schedule). This position is ideal for someone who’s detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about the craft of marketing communication. The ability to review every link, pixel, and subject line with precision will be essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Email Communication & Campaign Support

  • Assist with the planning, scheduling, and execution of email marketing campaigns.
  • Support audience segmentation and testing strategies to improve engagement and conversion.

2. Design & Deployment Assistance

  • Help set up, test, and deploy email campaigns while maintaining accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Conduct QA checks across devices and browsers, ensuring flawless rendering and user experience.
  • Troubleshoot basic template or formatting issues.

3. Dynamic Content & Personalization

  • Assist with segmentation and simple personalization efforts (e.g., name personalization, segmented content).
  • Support the development of dynamic content strategies as experience grows.

4. Marketing Automation Support

  • Provide assistance in Salesforce Marketing Cloud for email setup, scheduling, and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate any platform or process issues as needed.

5. Quality Assurance & Deployment Coordination

  • Perform final QA prior to campaign deployment to ensure accuracy in all content and technical elements.
  • Help format and prepare email lists, supporting proper delivery and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills — quality and accuracy are your superpowers.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HTML/CSS basics, and email best practices.
  • Understanding of audience segmentation, testing, and deliverability principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset — willing to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Awareness or interest in the nonprofit industry is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Marketing, Multimedia, Communications, or related field.
  • English Degree preferred (strong writing and editing background highly valued).
  • 2+ years of experience in an email marketing or digital marketing support role.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other major ESPs preferred.
