By providing information and insight on how political developments move markets, we help clients anticipate and respond to instability and opportunities everywhere they invest or do business. Our expertise includes developed and developing countries in every region of the world, specific economic sectors, and the business and investment playing fields of the future. With our best-in-class advisory and consulting offerings and GZERO Media, the Eurasia Group umbrella provides the marketplace with a complete political risk solution. Headquartered in New York, we have offices in Washington, London, San Francisco, Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Singapore, and Tokyo, as well as on-the-ground experts and resources in more than a hundred countries. "Politics first” grounds our work: Politics is the lens through which we view the world, and we are committed to analysis that is free of political bias and the influence of private interests.

Director, Events

Eurasia Group and its media subsidiary GZERO Media convene Fortune 500 CEOs, heads of state, visionary thinkers, and researchers from around the world to discuss where the world is headed and what it means for societies, markets, economies, and industries. Through our world-class virtual and in-person conferences, live streams and roundtables, we offer a platform for meaningful exchange and thoughtful debate on pressing topics including climate change and environmental sustainability, health security, global trade, cybersecurity, and social justice.

Eurasia Group’s Events division is seeking a Director of Events to manage the group’s growing portfolio of events and content initiatives. The Events Director will lead the team, working closely with management to set the editorial and commercial strategy, collaborate with our clients on an ambitious series of initiatives, and oversee day-to-day operations, budgeting, and event execution.

The ideal applicant will have a strong background in events management, operations, and client relations with an exceptional track record of project-managing large-scale, complex initiatives. The ability to work under pressure, think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate across multiple functions is also key.

This role will be based in New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a medium term events strategy for Eurasia Group and GZERO Media across products and geographies
  • Work with colleagues across functions to deliver exceptional, engaging, and meaningful event experiences in virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats
  • Bring value to client relationships by acting as their key point of contact and prioritizing their needs to deliver an exceptional level of service and help fulfill sponsorship objectives
  • Project-manage strategically critical events and integrated content experiences from start to finish, overseeing all aspects of execution and ensuring fruitful collaboration across functions
  • Set budgets, track costs, and ensure the business is making smart, responsible financial decisions
  • Develop and manage a robust global network of high-quality vendors and service-providers
  • Think creatively and critically about processes and success metrics, and provide innovative approaches to improve quality, transparency, and efficiency

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years of project management and events experience, preferably running virtual and in-person events
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, project management, operations, or related field
  • Exceptional client management skills
  • A creative, innovative mindset with a collaborative attitude
  • The ability to anticipate problems and implement quick and agile solutions
  • Experience running budgets, setting targets, and identifying measurements of success
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understanding and experience in producing in-person and virtual events
  • Up to date on event technologies and trends
  • Proficiency with Excel to track budgets

The applicable base salary range for this role is $90,000- $120,000

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
