Job Description

About the Opportunity:
A nationally recognized engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Forensic Engineer to join its growing diagnostics and investigations team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile projects involving structural assessments, failure analysis, and litigation support across a wide range of building types and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations to assess structural damage, material failures, and construction defects.
  • Analyze building systems and components to determine root causes of performance issues or failures.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and expert opinions for clients, insurance companies, and legal teams.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop repair strategies and remediation plans.
  • Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in forensic engineering, structural design, or construction.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Experience with building codes, construction practices, and materials science.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in litigation support or expert witness services.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing methods and structural modeling software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
