This role is with a new AI-forward portfolio company of Menlo Ventures, currently in stealth. We're on a mission to make data intelligent, beautiful, and accessible to everyone. Our founding team brings deep expertise in AI and software and has built products that millions love. We're pre-seed, with deep Silicon Valley roots and backed by tier-1 investors. Role Overview As our founding AI engineer, you'll partner closely with the founders to architect and implement our proprietary AI platform. You'll fine-tune and optimize foundation models, craft sophisticated multi-agent systems, and invent novel solutions to power the next generation of data intelligence. What you'll do Design and implement our core AI infrastructure, including model fine-tuning, fast decoding, and multi-agent architectures Build intelligent recommendation systems that guide users toward more effective data analysis Develop "fast update" capabilities enabling near real-time model responses to user modifications Collaborate with the team to ensure AI outputs are both insightful and intuitive Shape our technical roadmap and establish best practices for AI development What you bring Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or equivalent practical experience Experience building and scaling 0->1 AI/ML systems in fast-paced environments Strong experience training and fine-tuning large language models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA).Expertise in PyTorch, vLLM, and modern AI frameworks Deep understanding of prompt engineering, NLP techniques, and generative modeling Experience with multi-agent systems and distributed architectures Proficiency in Python and modern development practices (CI/CD, containerization) Working knowledge of JavaScript/ Next.js is a plus Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights Why join us Define the future of human-AI collaboration in data intelligence Work directly with founders to shape product strategy and technical direction Join a small, passionate team backed by top-tier investors Enjoy significant professional growth opportunities as we rapidly scale Compensation and Benefits Salary $140,000 – $200,000 per year based on experience and equity preference Early stage equity based on cash compensation Medical, Dental, Vision benefits If you’re ready to define a new category of data intelligence where AI and humans collaborate seamlessly—let’s talk. #J-18808-Ljbffr Menlo Ventures
