Job Description

About Us:

Live experiences help people cross today’s digital divide and focus on what truly connects us – the here, the now, this once-in-a-lifetime moment that’s bringing us together. To fulfill Gametime’s mission of uniting the world through shared experiences, we make it easy for people to discover and access the live experiences that matter most.

With platforms on iOS, Android, mobile web and desktop supporting more than 60,000 events across the US and Canada, we are reimagining the event ticket industry in order to move at the speed of life.

The Role:

Gametime is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer with SEO exposure to deliver technical initiatives that increase the visibility and growth of our web platform. You’ll help improve organic acquisition by crafting search-optimized, server-rendered experiences that connect fans to live events. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy blending performance engineering with SEO strategy and want to make a direct business impact.

You’ll work closely with marketing, product, and platform teams to build infrastructure and features that improve discoverability, page experience, and search rankings — all while delivering blazing-fast performance through server-side rendering (SSR) frameworks like Next.js and Remix .

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of SEO-friendly, performant web features using React and server-side rendering frameworks (e.g., Express, Remix, or Next.js).

  • Help implement and maintain structured data, canonical tags, metadata, internal linking, and other core SEO elements across pages.

  • Assist in improving Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP, TTI) through collaboration with senior engineers and performance tuning.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product to integrate headless CMS content (e.g., ButterCMS) into server-rendered or statically-generated pages.

  • Help monitor and debug SEO issues using tools like Google Search Console, Lighthouse, and Screaming Frog.

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team discussions to improve code quality and maintainability.

  • Support experimentation and A/B testing of SEO or content-driven changes.

  • Learn and apply best practices for technical SEO and scalable web architecture with mentorship from senior engineers.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience building modern web applications with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Familiarity with SSR concepts and frameworks like Express, Remix, or Next.js.

  • Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and semantic markup best practices.

  • Exposure to or interest in technical SEO (structured data, meta tags, sitemaps, canonicalization).

  • Some experience improving frontend performance and Core Web Vitals (especially LCP and CLS).

  • Comfort working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern build tools like Vite, Webpack, or Parcel.

  • Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from others.

  • Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with product, design, and marketing.

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating with headless CMS platforms.

  • Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog).

  • Previous work in e-commerce, marketplaces, or other SEO-driven environments.

  • Exposure to testing frameworks like Playwright, Vitest, or Gherkin-based tools.

What We can Offer:

  • Flexible PTO

  • Competitive salary & equity package

  • Monthly Gametime credits for any event ($1,200/yr)

  • Medical, dental, & vision insurance

  • Life insurance and disability benefits

  • Diverse Family-forming benefits through Carrot Fertility

  • 401k, HSA, pre-tax savings programs

  • Company off-sites and meet-ups

  • Wellness programs

  • Tenure recognition
