Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Instrument & Electrical Technician located in Freeport, Texas.
About You and This Role:
You will provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. You will maintain and repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. You will be required to broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. You may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities:
+ Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems
+ Calibrates and aligns equipment
+ Completes preventative maintenance activities
+ Checks sizing of components and parts
+ Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment
+ Coordinates maintenance spare parts
+ Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input
+ Sets up and calibrates, tests, measures and repairs all types of controls and instruments with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables
+ Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process
+ Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
+ Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements
+ Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work
Required Qualifications:
+ A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
+ A minimum of 2 years of Electrical & Instrumentation Technician experience or an associate degree or higher in Instrumentation or four years of relevant military experience.
+ Must have the ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights using safety harnesses. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety harnesses and related equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
+ Must have the ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position
+ Must have a current, valid US driver's license for driving a forklift or a company vehicle
+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
+ Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
+ Wear and use respirators
+ Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
+ Work in tight or closed-in spaces
+ Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground
+ Stand or walk for extended periods of time
+ Frequent/occasional lifting of material weighing approximately 50 lbs
