Job Description
NOTE: NO VISA SPONSORSHIP AT THIS TIME The ocean is our swim lane. Terradepth is increasing human interaction with the ocean. We collect comprehensive, high-resolution ocean data to empower society with information and knowledge crucial to the sustainable advancement of a variety of key industries. Interested? Great! Immerse yourself and see if you have the fins to swim in our pool.
Our Peeps. We are ocean enthusiasts, technologists, problem solvers, and makers dedicated to advancing ocean exploration. We are pioneers and made up of, to name a few...road bikers, chess players, dog lovers, world travelers, military veterans, and an array of individuals with diverse technical backgrounds. We have family people, single people and people who refer people. And if we're being totally honest...we like each other.
Why "fit" matters. It's not going to matter how smart or competent you are if you're not a good cultural fit. We demand that our people adhere to our values: Speed, Discipline, and Collaboration. We also expect team cohesion while avoiding groupthink - which is a difficult balance to maintain. Before we get into the details of the day-to-day duties, let's get down to the ocean floor.
What you do,
How you do it, and
Why you want to work here matters.
Electrical power and control systems; Do those words describe what you do? As a pioneering ocean robotics company specializing in the development and operation of uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) and the creation of advanced seabed data processing, management, and dissemination solutions, we need an experienced Instrument/Electrical Technician (IET).
As the IET, you will join Terradepth's Subsea Robotics (SSR) team to perform electronic assembly startup, calibration, functional, and safety testing on electrical and electronic systems for subsea vehicles as well as support and test equipment. On regular occasions, you'll need to travel to support field repair of deployed subsea vehicles and may be engaged as a member of the operations team to launch, monitor, and recover subsea vehicles.
The ability to work independently while being a solid team member who takes accountability are key traits we look for. Everybody has a learning curve, but this can't be your swimming lesson. We are committed to helping each other grow by sharing our knowledge and insight. As team-members we strive to be humble enough to learn but confident enough to execute. We love curiosity without distraction. Threaded into our day-to-day activities is our commitment to support, invest in and stretch our employees to help them achieve their ultimate career goals.
What about you? If building and testing of new electrical and electronics assemblies on existing and new Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), and survey boats is something you excel at, keep on swimming.
To be successful, you'll take your breath of knowledge to help ensure Terradepth's efforts and initiatives are focused on building subsea robotic products for the world's unmet needs. The development of these products are key to Terradepth's efforts and our overall business success.
