The Intern & Practicum Student Supervisor is an essential position that requires the applicable candidate to hire, train, and supervise Interns and Practicum Students. The Intern/Practicum Student Supervisor is also responsible for working with various collegiate institutions to find candidates needing Internships and supervise those Interns/Practicum Students during their tenure at the Company. The ideal candidate is someone who is outgoing, able to interact with others in a positive and professional manner, detail oriented in completing paperwork, and qualified to provide supervision. Essential Job Functions include overseeing and managing the Internship/Practicum Student program for assigned region/location, organizing and implementing training/supervision plans for new and established Interns/Practicum Students, updating Internship/Practicum Student manual annually or as needed, interviewing potential Interns/Practicum Students and ensuring all paperwork is completed, updating and maintaining all Internship/Practicum Student policies and procedures, orienting and providing ongoing supervision to Interns/Practicum Students, managing Intern/Practicum Student schedules, developing and maintaining relationships with key community partners and stakeholders, providing recognition and maintaining supportive, professional relationships with all staff, Interns and practicum students, participating in quality improvement activities, and other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required include expertise regarding diagnostic criteria of individuals with substance use disorders and/or mental health issues, knowledge of caseload management and rehabilitation methods, principles and techniques related to mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services, knowledge of problems encountered by persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders, knowledge of legal requirements and court procedures related to treating mental health and/or substance use disorders, supervisory and training techniques and practices, ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services, ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, communicate ideas clearly and effectively, establish effective relationships, follow direction and accept supervision, and operate a computer and software applications/systems. Experience and Education Qualifications include at least a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field, licensure with the applicable board of professional registration for the state practicing as a professional counselor or social worker (LPC, LCSW, or LMFT), willingness to become licensed in additional states, and willingness and comfort with providing telehealth services. Supervisory Requirements include communicating strategic direction, providing leadership and guidance, monitoring strategic objectives, involving team members, communicating changes and news, handling difficult team member situations, championing change, and reinforcing team approach. Employment Requirements include successful completion of background check, completion of New Hire Orientation, all training requirements including Relias, current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance. Physical Requirements include sedentary work with occasional exertion up to 10 pounds and repetitive movements for typing and/or writing.
