Description We are looking for an experienced legal assistant who can help the busy attorneys and paralegals at our law office assist our clients. You'll be responsible for managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. You'll also assist with preparing legal documents and contracts, and perform any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. Responsibilities •Provide clear and concise communication to a multitude of parties including the clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurance companies
•Maintain attorney's calendars
•Ensure deadlines are met
•Schedule and confirm appointments, recorded statements, IMEs, and EUOs
•Follow up and request all documents in regard to client's cases including but not limited to insurance information, police reports, medical records, and bills
•Provide support to case manager and attorney while managing a caseload
•Prepare demands and draft legal documents
•Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested
•Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly
•Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals
•Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines
Qualifications •The Legal Assistant position is an entry-level position and legal experience is not required
•Minimum of one year of office work experience or demonstrated interest in the law
•The Legal Assistant must have a high school degree and some college coursework
•Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Must have a positive attitude and be computer-savvy
•Strong multi-tasking ability
•Must be innovative, self-starter, and goal-oriented
•Candidate should be able to manage deadlines; ability to follow-up and be detail-oriented
•Ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment as part of a team
•Bilingual - English/Spanish
•Proficient with MS Office products
•Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
•Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills
