Description:

An Earthwise Pet Sales Associate is responsible for providing outstanding service through friendly engagement with our guests in order to assist in finding healthy solutions for their pets. A Sales Associate is proficient in all duties and is a back-up for store management. All Sales Associates will be trained to become certified pet nutrition specialists and are expected to apply knowledge to help service our customers. At Earthwise Pet we consider sales a service and we educate all team members on pet nutrition and the products we offer.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • The general duties of a Earthwise Pet Team Lead, include but are not limited to:
  • Grows sales by providing outstanding guest service.
  • Engaging and educating our guests in a warm, friendly and inviting manner which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest.
  • Learn and understand products carried by Earthwise Pet
  • Learn and understand Earthwise Pet’ loyalty, savings programs, and monthly promotions
  • Learn and understand Earthwise Pet point of sale system and daily procedures including:14th
  • Performing transactions for guests accurately and completely
  • Opening and closing procedures, end of day duties
  • Maintain store cleanliness, facing and rotation of product and merchandising display
  • Maintain inventory including receiving, stocking, transfers between stores, perform inventory cycle counts per Earthwise Pet procedures
  • Assists in the training and development of team members
  • Demonstrates leadership, professionalism and able to maintain a positive work environment
  • Ability to communicate with other team members and home office staff
  • Attends store meetings and trainings
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

  • Supervisory Requirements
  • This position assists in managing employees of the store and is responsible for leadership of the store in the manager’s or assistant manager’s absence.
  • Physical Requirements
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to and over 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Job Requirements
  • General: Customer/Guest service and retail experience, preferably in the pet industry. Knowledge of pet related products. Demonstrated competency with computerized point of sale and inventory control systems.
  • Working Environment: This job operates in a retail environment with merchandise displays and inventory items available for purchase.
  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, days and hours of work will vary. This position requires the flexibility to work within our normal store operating hours, including before and/or after hours and weekends. Overtime may be required at times.

  • Required Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in retail store
  • At least 1 year in supervisory or lead role
  • Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Associate’s degree
