Job Title: Project Manager/Estimator (Asphalt Focused)

Location: Brookings, SD 57006

Salary Range: $75,000 - $150,000 annually, D.O.E.

Job Summary:

Bowes Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager/Estimator to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, managing project schedules, and ensuring effective communication with customers, engineers, governmental agencies, and other project managers. This role also involves coordinating asphalt production to meet project specifications and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Estimates: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Project Scheduling: Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality standards.
  • Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with engineers, government entities, subcontractors, and other project managers to ensure compliance with regulations and project requirements.
  • Production Coordination: Oversee production processes, ensuring materials meet specifications and are delivered on schedule.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise project teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company standards.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, sales and marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales and marketing, business development, and public relations. (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of business, scheduling, problem solving capabilities, and ability to learn and adapt with changes in the field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, engineers, customers, and team members.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Familiarity with meeting requirements with government entities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and at construction sites.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods.
