We are seeking to hire an experienced Medical Coder to join our team at Midtown Medical. We are a primary care facility located in Mobile, Alabama. The position is remote, but could be hybrid if the hire lives within a reasonable distance. The ideal candidate will have experience coding for primary care facilities, have experience with Alabama Medicaid and Medicare. They will work closely with our providers, billing team, and insurance companies to ensure proper documentation, compliance, and reimbursement.

Candidate should be able to:

• Assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Review patient records and documentation have correct coding and are in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Utilize ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems to process claims.
• Communicate with providers and staff to clarify diagnoses and procedures when necessary.
• Assist in resolving coding-related denials and appeals from insurance companies.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect healthcare data security.
• Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines and medical terminology.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, CCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
