Hotel Restaurant Manager for The Dining Room at Urban Cowboy Lodge

Urban Cowboy Lodge is looking for a Restaurant Manager! The Dining Room at Urban Cowboy is a highlight of the hotel guest experience as well as a favorite spot for all that call our part of the Catskills home. Our goals are to grow our current programs and to develop new ones, all the while staying true to ourselves, loyal to our friends and keeping our hospitality the top priority.

The Lodge is a place of passionate hospitality professionals who thrive working with great people in an extraordinary place. The Lodge is set on 68 acres in the Big Indian Wilderness of upstate New York. Our expansive natural setting, warm hospitality, and eclectic rustic aesthetic create the ideal place in which to both live and work.

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work with others of varying skill levels 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Can form innovative ideas, create a plan of action, and implement it
  • Maintains a positive disposition and fosters a healthy work environment
  • Administrative and organizational skills; including time management
  • Literate in financial documents and understands business needs and operations 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, guests and vendors
  • Experience in boutique, quality-oriented restaurant operations
  • Strong food, wine and craft cocktail knowledge 
  • 2+ years of experience in Restaurant Management
  • 4+ years restaurant experience

Around here all managers wear multiple hats and the Restaurant Manager is no different. This person will have to thrive on the floor leading our team as an MOD, be a strong organizer/administrator as a department head and coordinate with our sales team events and occasions here at the Lodge.

As a Service Leader:

  • Provide leadership, education and training that inspires your staff 
  • Develop, implement and consistently execute service standards of the restaurant and the hotel
  • Impact service through your regular presence, ability and dynamism
  • Clearly communicate goals and objectives to staff
  • Be able to give praise, feedback and constructive criticism

As a Department Manager: 

  • Keep on pace with provided budgets, financial trends and goals 
  • Balance guest satisfaction, quality of services and staff needs with profitability
  • Collaborate to create goals and objectives that are compatible with the overall business
  • Maintain communication with the public through a departmental inbox
  • Account for and monitor expenses, revenue, inventory and equipment 

As an Event Lead: 

  • Liaise with the Sales Team and begin communicating at the handoff point 
  • Create systems and procedures to ensure the success of events of all sizes 
  • Act as an onsite point of contact for potential or contracted clients 
  • Create actionable BEO for staff using information received from sales team
  • Organize staff in cooperation with respective department managers 
  • Lead onsite the execution of events across all departments for all staff

Compensation:

$55-65,000/year + Commission of Events Sales as Lead ~45-50hrs/wk

Employer pays up to 75% of Health, Vision and Dental insurance premium 

10 days PTO (after 3 months) + 5 Sick Days 

Housing or Housing Stipend is available
