Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

 

  • General Overview:
    • This is a seller / doer role with Client Satisfaction, Business Development, and Project Financial Performance goals
  • Business Development:
    • Identify sales opportunities within the existing clients
    • Manage the Project proposal development efforts
  • Planning:
    • Contribute to the regional account planning process in alignment with company-wide market segment plans
    • Keep management and staff abreast of major developments and trends for specific accounts
    • Monitor and adjust plans to achieve desired results
  • Prospecting:
    • Lead the prospecting efforts for designated existing accounts, as well as identify additional opportunities
    • Create and implement account-specific business development strategies
    • Collaborate and lead in the preparation of proposals
    • Support other company-wide BD needs as required
    • Monitor and adjust prospecting efforts in order to maximize “hit rates”
    • Proposing, negotiating and contracting
    • Lead the opportunity planning process for designated existing accounts
    • Help proposal teams understand client’s needs
    • Collaborate in the preparation of proposal and review final draft before submitting to the Business Unit Manager for approval
    • Lead the closing, negotiating and contracting process for designated existing accounts·
    • Implement strategies and tactics to improve probabilities of closing the proposal and negotiating the contracts
    • Monitor, report on, and adjust results of proposing, negotiating and contracting efforts to improve final results
  • Project Delivery:
    • Lead execution of schematic design development through contract document working drawings
    • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of multi-discipline projects with a high degree of technical complexity
    • Responsible for documentation, permitting, and bid management
    • Oversee construction administration, monitor contracts and prepare progress reports
    • Manage vendor coordination and product specification
    • Coordinate workloads with the project team to complete deliverables on schedule
    • Work in conjunction with the Department, Project and Discipline Managers and outside consultants
    • Promote adherence to office standards and procedures
    • Implement QA/QC procedures
    • Support department operations and performance
    • Responsible for Client and multi project coordination under minimal supervision.
    • Provide data to Department Manager for evaluation
    • Address Change Order notifications.
    • Maintain positive Client relations and responsive communication
    • Assist with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings on an as-needed basis
    • Participate in business development and professional networking activities to build local relationships and uncover leads for new business opportunities
    • Lead a team and train staff as necessary
    • Responsible for full project delivery process including pre-project planning, project set up, developing budget for labor, expense and subcontractors, project execution, revenue recognition, project billing, collections, and project closeout.
    • Developing project execution plan in order to comply with client expectations: quality, on time and within budget
    • Lead client meetings during the project delivery process
    • Responsible for the accounts receivable of the assigned accounts
    • Maintain open communication with Project Delivery Leaders to ensure quality of service at the client level

 

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

 

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
  • At least 8 to 15 years of post-graduate, professional firm experience
  • Experience working in Florida or Puerto Rico
  • Experience with drafting scope for multi-discipline design proposals
  • Track record of leading successful business pursuits
  • Experience developing an account plan and business development strategy
  • Strong existing professional relationships in the Florida market
  • Experience successfully managing projects with little supervision- on time, on budget, limited RFI's and change orders
  • Comfortable working in a remote x hybrid work environment with geographically distributed team members
  • Site visits or meetings may require local travel or occasional travel to Puerto Rico
  • Project typology experience in schools, affordable housing, parks & rec, office, commercial/ retail, institutional building design and renovation
  • Computer expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, Office suites, and Adobe Suites.
  • Committed to becoming an active participant in the CSA culture.
  • Experience with full project delivery from conceptual through contract document (including detailing, specifications, production management, design production), and contract admin and construction phased services.
  • Experience attending professional network meetings and events and self-developing project leads
  • Experience working on responses for public sector RFQs/RFPs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Strong team player with proactive attitude
  • Works well under pressure of deadlines and changing dynamics
  • Comfortable with budgets, developing work plans, and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Registered Architect or Electrical/Mechanical Professional Engineer in the State of Florida preferred
  • Preference for experience in southeast FL in Miami Dade, Palm Beach or Broward County.
