About Om Mushrooms At Om Mushrooms, we are passionate about our mission to harness the amazing power of mushrooms for healthier lives. Om is the recognized leading brand in the rapidly expanding functional mushroom category. The Company enjoys distribution across all leading retailers in HNF (Whole Foods/Sprouts) as well as conventional grocery (Wegman’s/Safeway), and Ecom (Amazon/Thrive), and DTC on its own website. The Company’s efficacious products come in a variety of formats - capsules, gummies, powders, and functional beverages. All of the Company’s products are made from organic, whole bodied (mycelium and fruiting body) mushrooms grown indoors at its brand-new state of the art manufacturing facility in Vista CA.
The Company was founded in 2010 by Sandra Carter, a health and wellness expert with a PhD in preventative medicine and Steve Farrar, a mycologist with over 30 years of experience in growing mushrooms. The company is well funded from four separate, values based, impact investment funds; and the investors continually support the growth of the business. POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a health and wellness enthusiast, passionate about the Company’s mission to improve people’s lives through the power of functional mushrooms, the Senior Brand Manager plays a key role in building the Om brand’s credibility and authority in the functional mushroom category.
This role is part of the Marketing team responsible for driving brand awareness through effective brand communications, owned /earned media channels and retail & shopper marketing. The SBM embraces the Om brand with positive energy and is a creative problem solver that’s able to roll up their sleeves and help achieve our vision – a world where everyone is superpowered by mushrooms!
Ideal candidate will:
Hold a strong understanding of the following areas: brand strategy, consumer insights, commercial / retail marketing, shopper marketing.
Live and breathe media and have been involved in successful 360 campaigns.
Be proficient in social media, understanding how to reach consumers on each platform.
Have an eye for breakthrough creative, bringing new and differentiated activation ideas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand Marketing Plan Strategy and Execution
Implementation of new Om brand positioning across all consumer touch points to amplify brand desirability and differentiation vs the competition.
Manage agencies and vendors to execute marketing plans, evaluate results, and drive continuous optimization.
Oversee all brand marketing tactics and creative, ensuring the right positioning is being successfully communicated in the appropriate channel and consumer audience.
Monitor and analyze brand, product, the consumer and competitive performance to stay abreast of innovation and developments in the mushroom and supplement industry.
Report on KPIs and impact of marketing programs and spend.
Brand Content, Communications and Activations
Manage all owned/earned channels and corresponding partners /agencies – namely, PR, Advertising, Social Media, and Email.
Collaborate with internal and external resources plus use existing skills to produce content for social media, website, e-Commerce sites, and shopper marketing assets.
Evaluate and plan the brand's experiential activations such as sampling, events, and partnerships.
Retail Channel Strategy and Activation
Work with Sales team and creative partners to develop marketing support programs to drive sell in and adoption of product line, including new items.
Oversee and drive shopper marketing initiatives for retail market success.
Other Key Initiatives & People Leadership
Support and help plan for company presence at annual Natural Products Expo West trade show.
Management of one direct report, and will act as a coach/resource for junior team member(s).
Motivates cross-functional teams through collaboration and influence to carryforward a variety of brand projects.
Adapt to shifting organizational priorities by taking ownership of new duties and regularly owning a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business or a related field or the equivalent in related experience; MBA is a plus.
5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the health, natural or wellness CPG industry.
Experience managing shopper marketing, social media, and brand activation programs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A proactive approach with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership and coaching competencies to junior members of the team.
A passion for healthy and active lifestyles is a distinct plus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This full-time role will receive a competitive salary + benefits, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401k match. This position's anticipated annual pay range is $150,000 to $160,000 plus a 10% bonus. Equity incentives also will be considered. Various factors are considered when determining an individual's compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, education, certifications, experience, professional licenses, and location. LOCATION
The position is full-time with occasional presence at our Vista, CA location (about 35 miles north of San Diego and 60 south of Orange County). While hybrid, the position will require residence in Southern California, with at least 1 day a week in the office.
