Administrator consultant. The Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator will manage and optimize the client’s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The resource will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

Scope Of Work:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
• Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
• Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
• Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
• Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
• Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities as required.
• Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount points.
• Configuring Chron jobs for both systems and applications.

Resource Qualifications:

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
• Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator certification.
• 10+ years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
• 10+ years administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems, 15+ years in IT.
• Working in a complex networked system environment with strong networking.
• Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below:
• Oracle WebLogic Servers
• Oracle Database Servers
• Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
• Apache Web Servers
• vSphere hosted RHEL Servers.
• Rubrik backup systems.
• Oracle Database backups.
• PeopleSoft
• Mobius
• Elastic Search
• Oracle OBI
• CVS (Concurrent Version System)
• Red Hat performance tuning.
• Load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system availability.
• Application development.
• Red Hat Support.
• Electronic Imaging Support.

Place of Performance:

• Hybrid Setting: Two days remote, three days on-site in Annapolis, MD.
• On-Site Support: Must be able to report on-site within 24 hours if required.

Schedule & Coordination:

• Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EDT, with flexibility for extended coverage.
• Training: A two to four-week training period will be provided.

Interview Process:

• Shortlisted resources will complete a one-hour in-person interview at the client location in Annapolis, MD.
