Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant to manage and optimize our Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Linux systems administration, automation, performance tuning, and enterprise-level support. This role plays a critical part in maintaining system stability, enhancing security posture, and supporting various mission-critical applications.

Scope of Work

The Ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining RHEL servers across development, test, and production environments.
• Performing system upgrades, applying patches, and hardening systems for security compliance.
• Monitoring performance and resolving system issues to ensure maximum uptime.
• Creating and maintaining automation scripts using Ansible , Bash , or Python .
• Managing Red Hat tools such as Satellite and Identity Management (IdM) .
• Supporting backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Guiding application teams on best practices for Linux deployments.
• Maintaining up-to-date documentation of configurations and procedures.
• Participating in on-call support and incident management.
• Setting up and managing Network File Server (NFS) mount points.
• Configuring system/application cron jobs .

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) — must be certified by Red Hat and provide a valid certification number.
• Knowledge of Red Hat Linux system administration including configuration, tuning, and security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
• 10+ years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
• 15+ years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Preferred Experience With:

• Complex, networked systems with strong networking components.
• Red Hat performance tuning and support.
• Load balancing, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Administering systems for:
• Oracle WebLogic
• Oracle Databases
• Progress 4GL/OpenEdge
• Apache Web Servers
• vSphere-hosted RHEL
• Rubrik Backup Systems
• PeopleSoft , Mobius , ElasticSearch , Oracle OBI
• Concurrent Version System (CVS)
• Supporting 24/7 mission-critical environments.
• Application development and electronic imaging support.

Abilities:

• Troubleshoot across OS, database, and application layers.
