Substitute Teacher | Peer Mentor

 

Schedule: Part-time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm 
Location: Various school sites within the Banning Unified School District 
Expected Hourly Rate: $35/hour
Start & End Date:  08/12/24 - 04/11/25

THE ROLE
Seeking individuals with a substitute teaching permit OR a Bachelor's degree & CBEST to work at a local school in the Banning Unified School District. This is an in-person position.  Candidates with only a Bachelor’s Degree/CBEST must be willing to submit transcripts and apply for an Emergency 30 Day sub permit with the help from Elevo and will be compensated the Substitute Teacher rate once receiving clearance through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support/guide Elevo coaches on site to implement PBIS, ensure student safety, and communicate with site administration and teachers
• Provide line on sight on colleagues/coaches engaging students in SEL PE, art, and science curriculum
• Jump in to demonstrate, engage, and participate in games with students
• Jump in to lead groups of students in activities while implementing strong behavior management skills on the field when needed
• Act as a positive and inspiring role model to Elevo coaches and students
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service for all students and school staff

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

• Substitute Permit Required (currently enrolled in a credential program must have completed 90 credits and enrolled in at least a 4-year state school level and above)
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2 years of working experience in education, coaching, or child development is strongly preferred
• 18 years and older
• Reliable transportation
• Submitting fingerprint-based background check and TB test (paid for by the Elevo)
• Authorized to work in the US
