Department: PRESCHOOL Position Title: Teacher Aide Supervisor : Corps Officers/Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date: January 2024 JOB SUMMARY: The Teacher Aide will provide support to the classroom Teacher by assisting with the development of each individual child enrolled in Ohana Keiki Day Care Center.
Hours and shifts will vary according to the needs of the preschool.
Qualification Requirements: Valid Driver's LicenseEarly Childhood Education Training/Experience
Current Physical & TB ClearanceHigh School Diploma or Higher
CPR & First Aid Certification Card - Infant/Toddler
Current Fingerprint & Criminal History Background Check
PATCH Registry Certificate
All requirements shall be kept updated.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Assist classroom Teacher with supervision of children, being sure each individual child is safe from all harmful hazards and activities.
- Assist with keeping the environment organized and appropriate for the day activities.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up of daily meals and activities scheduled.
- Able to work with the other staff members in carrying out age-appropriate activities.
- Participate in workshops and training sessions when available, for personal growth in the Early Childhood Education.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director or Corps Officer of the Salvation Army.
- Communicate any concerns with Director.
- Display awareness of the mission of the Salvation Army to the public in a positive manner at all times.
OTHER FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties as assigned.Able to lift up to 40lbs.
SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: - Valid Hawaii driver's license (if needed)
- Prioritize multiple work tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Travel off-island as necessary (if needed)
