Position Title: Tool Room Machinist

Wage: $30-$35/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6am-2:30pm

QPS is looking for a highly skilled Tool Room Machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and problem-solving. This is a hands-on role where your expertise truly makes an impact—creating one-off and custom components, collaborating directly with engineers, and interpreting detailed blueprints. Tool Room Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set up and operate manual Trak lathe and mill to produce custom tooling and one-off parts
- Work directly from detailed blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings
- Collaborate with engineers and maintenance/production personnel to determine specifications for parts
- Inspect finished parts to ensure precise tolerances and quality standards
- Perform adjustments, tool changes, and troubleshooting as needed
- Maintain organized work area and adhere to all safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving within the tool room

Tool Room Machinist Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in manual machining (lathe and mill required)
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement interpretation skills
- Ability to machine one-off or low-volume custom parts, not high-production runs
- Experience working with engineers and collaborating on part design/feasibility
- Solid understanding of shop math, tooling selection, tolerances, and machining practices
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
