Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hour shifts with 12-hour scheduling
\n• Patient ratios of 1:5 across all shifts (days, nights, weekends)
\n• Weekend coverage required as needed - weekend days are Saturday and Sunday, weekend nights include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
\n• 2 years of experience required (will review candidates with 1.5 years)
\n• Level I Trauma experience preferred, Level II Trauma experience required
\n• Travel experience strongly preferred
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before submission)
\n• No RQI certifications accepted
\n• New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission
\n• Floating expectations: Adult PCUs based on staffing needs, optional floating to Pediatric ED, potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma
\n• Approximately 60%-80% of Emergency Department patients are admitted with many ED rooms serving as "ED Holding"
\n• Medication administration including IV medications, documentation and communication of clinical findings
\n• Work with specialized equipment including arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and ventilated patients
\n• Handle trauma cases including gunshot wounds, neuro-trauma, ortho trauma, and traumatic brain injuries
\n• Black scrubs required (not provided)
\n• Cerner charting system
\n• 24-hour orientation provided
\n• No on-call requirements
\n• Guaranteed contracted hours (36/48/40) per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times during 13-week assignment
\n• Overtime must be pre-approved and is rarely granted
\n• No locals within 75-mile radius accepted

The facility serves as a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and Children's Hospital, handling 170-200 daily census with approximately 175 visits per day. The organization provides extensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The emergency department maintains high acuity with significant admission rates and specialized trauma capabilities.
