The UI/UX Web Designer is an essential part of the Product Management team tea reporting directly to the Sr. Product Manager or VP of Product Management, responsible for the UI/UX design of a rapidly growing a market-leading benefits marketplace web platform. Tasked with presenting, discussing, advocating for, and delivering design assets and artifacts at various stages of the product and feature design process, including conceptual diagrams, wireframes, storyboards, mockups, prototypes, and ready-for-development, fully annotated final designs. The role builds and designs digital web based products and applications while using UX principles.

This position requires an understanding of the product management design, plan and development process within a SaaS or web application software business. Additionally requires experience within an end-end Agile Software Development Lifecycle. Operating as an creative thinker and detail orientation solution creator, coupled with excellent product lifecycle and communication skills.

This is an position in a very fast paced environment and is well suited for someone interested in a career in creative design within a web Product or Research & Development organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers and developers to conceptualize and design user-centric digital experiences that align with business goals and user needs.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to visualize and communicate design ideas, iterating based on feedback and usability testing results.
• Craft visually compelling user interfaces that enhance usability and engagement, ensuring consistency in design elements and branding across platforms.
• Conduct thorough user research and user testing to gather insights, refining designs to optimize user journeys and address pain points.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging design patterns, infusing innovative ideas into our design processes and pushing the boundaries of creativity.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles within the team, advocating for intuitive interactions and seamless navigation in all our digital products.
• Collaborate with developers during the implementation phase, providing design assets and guidance to ensure the final product aligns with the original vision and maintains design integrity.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in a website and/or SaaS UI/UX design role
• Experience with Google Analytics and Hotjar is essential.
• Experienced with working in a Agile/Scrum software development environment
• Strong communication skills to articulate design concepts, rationale, and interaction decisions to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• A knack for solving complex design challenges, adapting to evolving requirements, and integrating feedback to achieve innovative solutions.
• Expert design proficiency demonstrating expertise in UI/UX design, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to craft intuitive, visually appealing interfaces that enhance user experiences.
• A deep understanding of user behavior and psychology, enabling you to create designs that anticipate user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Leveraging persona based design needs.
• Fluency in design tools with mastery of industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar platforms to create and communicate your design concepts effectively.
• Solid interaction design skill with proven ability to create interactive prototypes and wireframes that effectively communicate the flow and functionality of digital web products.
• Expertise in designing for mobile platforms, ensuring seamless experiences across various devices and screen sizes. Include Mobile and Web platform coexistence.
• Proficiency in conducting usability tests and user research, utilizing insights to iterate and refine designs for optimal usability.
• Industry Trends Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices to infuse your work with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
• Open-Minded Learner: A passion for continuous learning and growth, embracing feedback and actively seeking opportunities to expand your design skills and knowledge.
• Experience leading web site design product initiatives
• Experience creating and executing product strategies and leading a product vision
• Experience with product management software and related tools such as Jira, Aha, etc.
• Knowledge of business systems, data analysis, and data platforms
• Extensive knowledge and experience with agile development methodology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills
• Preferred experience leading Product or R&D initiatives within a company whose focus is on delivering software solutions serving the Benefits, Voluntary Benefits or HR industry.
