Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to perform scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance on site, covering a fleet of 75 material-handling equipment units. The role involves addressing common issues such as battery connectors, preventive codes, switch issues, and wheel bearing problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on material-handling equipment.
• Address reactive maintenance needs as they arise.
• Troubleshoot and repair battery connectors, switch issues, and wheel bearing problems.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on equipment such as crown units, stock pickers, reach trucks, and unit pallet jacks (both electric and propane).
• Document issues and the equipment serviced using a tablet.
• Communicate effectively with clients and operators about equipment status and maintenance schedules.

Pay is $30-35 an hour based on experience

Essential Skills

• Proven troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Proficiency in forklift, reach truck, and stock picker repair.
• Strong understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Material Handling Equipment (MHE) mechanic.
• Ability to document maintenance activities using a tablet.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in fleet maintenance and forklift repair.
• Strong communication skills for updating clients and operators.
• Experience working consistently on MHE equipment.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a distribution center, ensuring a temperature-controlled space that does not exceed 85 degrees. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7am to 4pm, with the possibility of on-call work after hours.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
