Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant – Construction Salary: $100K-$110K Are you a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment? Do you enjoy digging into the financial nuts and bolts of construction projects and partnering with operations to drive success? Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant with solid construction industry experience to play a key role in shaping the financial future of a growing company. This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with project managers, bring financial clarity to complex builds, and make a real impact from day one. If you’re proactive, analytical, and passionate about construction finance—this could be the perfect fit. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Perform job cost accounting and maintain accuracy of job cost ledgers Monitor and track project budgets, cost-to-complete, and work-in-progress (WIP) reports Support monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations Assist with audits, tax reporting, and external financial reviews Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures Analyze variances and provide insight into project financial performance Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required) 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and WIP accounting Experience with accounting systems such as Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE (Timberline), Procore, or similar construction software Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
