DIA Design Hall of Fame
The DIA Design Hall of Fame was initiated in association with the Victorian Design Awards of the late 1990s.
The initial focus of the Hall was Victorian designers, although Alberto Alessi was inducted as an International Member in the inaugural year. After a break of several years the Hall of Fame was relaunched in 2005 at a reunion dinner in Melbourne. The Hall of Fame is an important record of Australia’s design history.
A national committee, chaired by Joanne Cys LFDIA, is charged with selecting and inducting noteworthy designers and design industry figures into the Hall. The new mandate of the Hall is to recognise designers from throughout Australia.
