New year, New CEO, New Chair.

A recent changing of the guard for the Australian Design Alliance [AdA] saw long time advocate Jo Kellock formally stepped down from her role as Joint CEO to the AdA hand the reins to Paul van Barneveld who has shared the position with Jo for the past two years.

Over the past two years, Paul’s focus has been on refocusing the purpose of the AdA back on its original mandate of being a collaborative voice for the Australian Design industry. Paul developed and delivered the AdA Context workshops that were designed to allow us to talk directly to the Design industry about the issues affecting the industry as a whole. The outcomes of these workshops have informed the strategic activities of the organisation will be released shortly.

Chris Knierim, CEO of Building Designers Australia, was also elected to the position of Board Chair succeeding Australian Fashion Council’s Dave Giles-Kaye. Chris has been an enthusiastic member of the Board of the past three years and is keen to assist Paul in delivering on the AdA’s mandate of being the collective and collaborative voice of the Australian Design Industry.

The AdA would like to thank both Jo and Dave for their dedication and service to the organisation over the past few years.
