  • Celebrating over 32 years of education, JMC Academy remains Australia’s leading Creative Industries institution, offering Degrees and Diplomas across a range of creative disciplines that now includes Digital Design.   • UNSW Art & Design leads Australia with a focus on innovation and emerging technologies.

    We inspire future leaders by equipping our students with the skills and capacity for creative thinking so they can make their critical mark on the world.

    At UNSW Art & Design our approach is interdisciplinary, advancing tradition and challenging existing thinking. We foreground experimentation and exploration in art and design, fostering collaboration across science, engineering, the humanities and social sciences.

    Our faculty is comprised of renowned practitioners, researchers and thinkers spanning contemporary visual arts, creativity and culture, design and innovation.  Our intensive and rigorous art, design and media programs are studio practice based and industry engaged.

    UNSW Art & Design is an internationally recognised centre for arts-led transdisciplinary research in science and technology, our strengths span Art Theory and Criticism; Film, Television and Digital Media; Visual Arts and Crafts.

    We have initiated pioneering research programs in immersive interactive environments, visualisation, robotics, art and politics, Indigenous knowledge and global issues, all housed within our National Institute for Experimental Arts.

  • The Design Innovation Research Centre (DIRC) is a multidisciplinary centre based in the UTS Faculty of Design. We are focused on the development of innovative, design-oriented research that has the potential to transform the companies we work for and the cities in which we live.

    Established in 2014, DIRC provides niche expertise in the integration of design-driven methodologies and tools with traditional business practice. Our researchers are internationally recognised as experts in the disciplines of frame creation and design-led innovation.

    DIRC is a wholly public-facing entity that exists to create positive change in business, social and environmental contexts. Our researchers work broadly with industry, sharing our design-led approach with a wide range of academic, public and private sector partners.

    Our vision

    At DIRC, we seek to:

    • achieve innovation through the development of new design practices, methods, and structures for public and private organisations
    • create an evidence base for the value of design as innovation within micro (firm level) and macro (sector level) Australian contexts
    • develop a strategy for the broad-based adoption of design and innovation activities within the Australian socio-economic context.

  • Virtu online courses are offered through an easy to use Campus portal where students will find a motivating learning environment. Virtu engages with the professional design community allowing our students to draw on well respected individuals who are also involved in Virtu’s governance, its academic management and its teaching and learning activities.

    Virtu is a member of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) and by studying with us students will achieve an Australian nationally accredited qualification, only delivered by Australian Registered Training Organisations (RTO) as assessed by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

  • Established in 1988, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia has a reputation as one of Australia’s leading privately owned Design education institutions underpinned by a learning culture supporting innovation and creativity. Whitehouse provides sound Design education fostering personal growth establishing a student’s individual design identity across four disciplines – Fashion Design, Interior Design and Creative Direction & Styling.

    In 2014 Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia added the Master of Design to its acclaimed Bachelor of Design programs. Whitehouse Institute of Design’s new Master of Design balances research with socially responsible and sustainable design outcomes. The subjects develop students’ existing knowledge and skills to achieve mastery in their chosen discipline, whilst enhancing their relationship with associated disciplines.
